- She graduated from St. Mary?s School and attended Notre Dame College at Mitchell, SD. She taught school in rural Brookings County schools for many years. She married Charles Stevens 02 JUN 1941 and lived in Lake Bentson, MN for thirty years. She worked as a clark in her husband?s drugstore until his death in 1971. Charles had worked in Mork?s Clothing Store before joining his brother in business with the drugstore. Mary livbed in Sioux Falls, SD, from 1971 to 1974 when she returned to Elkton, SD. Mary and Charles had a step-daughter, Martha Lou, who married Maurice Schmidt. Marthe Lou is a nurse. She and her husband live in St. Cloud, MN, with their six children
