      Lucille M. Hoxmeier

      Lucille M. Hoxmeier, 91, of Stonehill Care Center, formerly of 2243 Chippewa Drive, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at Stonehill Care Center.

      Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. The Siegert-Casper Colonial Funeral Home, 390 N. Grandview Ave., is in charge of arrangements.

      She was born on April 15, 1917, in Dubuque County, daughter of Frank and Katherine (Hoffman) Herbst. She married Leo W. Hoxmeier on June 24, 1939, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dubuque; he preceded her in death on May 11, 2004.

      Lucille was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who savored every minute with her family.

      Surviving are her sons, Roger (Diane) Hoxmeier, of Verdi, Nev., Gary (fiancee, Tina Dunphy) Hoxmeier, of Ankeny, Iowa, and Terrence (Jane) Hoxmeier, of Harrisonburg, Va.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Viola Heinricy, of Dubuque.

      She also was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Armin "Butch" Herbst and Elmer Herbst.

      The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Stonehill Care Center and Hospice of Dubuque for their loving care.
